Anton S. Kaplanyan is a research scientist working on real-time graphics at NVIDIA and a co-founder of Lightrig GmbH, a successful company focusing on illumination editing for physically based rendering. His primary research and recent publications are about advanced light transport methods for global illumination in both real-time and offline scenarios. Prior to doing his PhD at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany with Prof. Carsten Dachsbacher, Anton had been working at Crytek GmbH on a cross-platform game engine CryENGINE 3 and a AAA shooter game Crysis 2 at various positions ranging from senior R&D graphics engineer to lead researcher, leading the development of novel real-time rendering approaches, including the Light Propagation Volumes technique. He received his M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics at National Research University of Electronic Technology, Moscow in 2007.
